Workmanship
& Warranty
Understand your coverage, keep your project documents and know how to request help if something needs attention.
Your Quotation Defines Your Coverage
RenovationKL.my is a product of GigoHome.my and DoorstepFix.my. Warranty enquiries are coordinated through our shared GigoHome service team.
Workmanship warranty is provided as stated in your accepted quotation or service agreement. The covered work, duration, start date and applicable exclusions depend on your project.
No Single Period for Every Job
Bathroom tiling, painting, ceiling works and other renovation services may have different warranty terms. Do not assume a standard period applies unless it is recorded in your project documents. If the terms are missing or unclear, ask us to clarify them before confirming the work.
Two Types of Warranty
Workmanship Warranty
Applies to covered defects caused by the installation or work performed within the agreed scope.
The cause of a reported issue must be assessed. Coverage is determined using the findings and your written warranty terms.
Product Warranty
Materials, fittings and products follow the applicable manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty terms.
Keep relevant receipts, certificates and product details. Product coverage and workmanship coverage may have different durations and claim procedures.
Check These Details Before Work Begins
- Covered work: the specific items and areas included in the workmanship warranty.
- Duration and start date: the period of coverage and whether it starts at completion, handover or another agreed date.
- Responsible provider: who will assess the issue and carry out any covered rectification.
- Exclusions: conditions or causes that fall outside the agreed coverage.
- Supporting documents: your quotation, invoice, handover record and any product certificates.
What May Fall Outside Coverage?
Depending on your written terms and the cause of the issue, the following may fall outside the agreed workmanship warranty:
- Normal wear, ageing or expected changes in materials.
- Accidental damage, misuse or unsuitable cleaning methods.
- Unrelated existing defects outside the contracted scope.
- Damage caused by later alterations or repairs by others to the affected work.
- External events or building movement not caused by the agreed renovation work.
- Issues caused by failure to follow reasonable care or maintenance instructions provided for the completed work.
An exclusion is not an automatic reason to reject a claim. Its relevance depends on the actual cause, the agreed coverage and applicable law. For example, later work in an unrelated room does not automatically cancel coverage for the whole project.
How to Request Warranty Assistance
Contact Our GigoHome Team
WhatsApp 011-2175 2365. Mention RenovationKL and provide your name, job reference and property location.
Explain What Happened
Describe the issue, when you first noticed it and whether it is getting worse. Include clear photos or a short video where useful.
Arrange an Assessment
We review the records with the relevant service provider and discuss whether a site inspection is needed. Any proposed charge must be explained before you agree to the visit.
Confirm the Next Step
If the issue is covered, the responsible provider will arrange the appropriate remedy under the agreed warranty. If it is outside coverage, we will explain why and discuss any proposed chargeable work before proceeding.
While Your Issue Is Being Reviewed
Take reasonable steps to prevent further damage where safe. Keep photos and relevant records. Where practical, contact us before arranging non-urgent alterations to the affected work so its condition can be assessed.
Do not delay urgent action needed to protect people or property while waiting for a warranty response. Retain records of any emergency work and associated costs.
Common Warranty Questions
Does every renovation come with a 12-month warranty?
No single duration applies to all RenovationKL projects. Use the period expressly stated in your accepted quotation or warranty document.
When does my warranty start?
The start date should be stated in your project documents. It may be tied to the agreed completion or handover date. Contact us if the date is unclear.
Is every crack, stain or leak a workmanship defect?
Not necessarily. Similar symptoms can have different causes. The affected work, site conditions and agreed scope must be reviewed before deciding whether warranty coverage applies.
Will an inspection or repair cost anything?
This depends on the agreed warranty and assessment findings. We will explain any proposed charge before you authorise it. Covered rectification follows the terms of your warranty.
Can I report an issue after handover or final payment?
Yes. Contact us with your project documents and details of the issue. Handover or payment does not, by itself, remove an applicable warranty or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Who do I contact if a contractor does not respond?
Contact the GigoHome team through the official WhatsApp number and include your job reference and previous messages. We will review the matter with the relevant service provider.
